Virtual Trek - Terrain

Villages are built on sloping mountainsides.   Different tribes choose altitudes that suite their style of agriculture. All tribes make huts out of bamboo which is readily available.

It is hard not to be touched by the sheer beauty of the area which can be utterly stunning. The endless mountain-scape during sunset is amongst the most touching of the trekking memories.

The rocks that make up the mountains of the area contain countless caves for exploration. Many caverns have yet to be explored as superstitious locals keep away from them in fear of spirits and, previously, bears, bats and other cave dwellers.

The varied fauna of the area provides botanists and nature lovers with a real vista of delight.  From pine trees to bamboo forests the changing terrain is an eye tonic for city-slickers.
