Village School
The lush green forests of Northern
Thailand are ideal for student walks. |
Day 1.
- 8:00 Depart from Bangkok by train
Day 2.
- 07:10 Arrive in Chiang Mai, transfer and check into
Hotel
- 09:30 Breakfast
- 10:30 Transport to Trapae gate for environmental
assessment.
- 12:00 Lunch (Boxed)
- 12:30 Depart for Doi Suthep Temple
- 13:10 Arrive Doi Suthep Mountain Temple for sketching and planned
activities
- 16:30 Return to hotel
- 19:00 Pick up from hotel for Kantoke (Northern Thai Classical Dances) cultural dinner.
- 22:00 Return to hotel
Day 3.
- 08:30 Depart from Hotel
- 09:30 Arrive at Elephant Nature Park for video
presentations and Elephant bathing
- 13:00 Lunch (buffet)
- 14:00 Depart from Elephant park
- 14:50 Arrive at Orchid butterfly farm
- 17:00 Arrive back at hotel
- 18:30 Buffet dinner
- 19:30 Trip to Chiang Mai night bazaar.
- 21:30 Return to hotel.
Day 4.
- 09:00 Depart for village school, stopping at a local
village for refreshments etc.
- 12:00 Cooked buffet lunch at the village school
- 13:00 Tent erecting,
- 14:00 Orientation and Orienteering
- 18:00 BBQ, games and activities at camp fire including
tribal dancing exhibition and local games.
Day 5.
- 08:00 Breakfast at camp site
- 09:30 Jungle walking, meeting tribes of Palong, Akha,
Lisu and Karen
- 12:30 Pick up from Karen village to camp site.
- 13:00 Return to camp site for cooked lunch
- 13:30 Tent dismantling
- 15:00 Village headmaster, school announcements and
thanks.
- 15:30 Depart village school.
- 17:30 Return to Chiang Mai via local town.
Day 6.
- 19:00 Buffet dinner at hotel. Farewells, announcements
etc.
- 20:15 Transfer to the train station.
- 21:05 Depart Chiang Mai, Arrive in Bangkok 09:40.
- This trip is extremely successful, giving international
school students the opportunity of personally interacting
with a tribal village children. The non government funded
tribal school benefited from generous equipment donations
made to them by their visitors
