About Us Gem Travel was founded in 1987 as a local tour operator. We are currently dealing with over 35,000 visitors per year, providing them with full travel services including adventure and tour opportunities throughout Northern Thailand and beyond. We are bonded and fully licensed with the Tourist Authority of Thailand

In addition to our tour department we also makes travel and ticketing arrangements for individuals and groups around the world. As both tour operator and travel agent we are in an ideal position to provide your group, family and friends with full accommodation, tour and travel itineraries, at considerable savings.

We have the capacity to deal with up to 500 visitors (as a single group) per time and this number can be increased by client consultation. Groups are usually split into more easily manageable levels to ensure convenience and comfort.

Our office is conveniently located opposite Galare Shopping Bazaar in the popular tourist area.

Management.

The company is Thai managed with a western director who is responsible for overseeing trip details and planning.

Sangduen Chailert, the general manager, assists and organises the hand-picked staff who will be in charge of your groups activities. She is a native of Northern Thailand and holds a BA from Chiang Mai University.

Guides

Are all English speaking, T.A.T., University trained. Several are multi-lingual including French language speakers. German, Chinese and Japanese speakers are available upon request. We have 50 full time staff all with a minimum of three years experience in dealing with groups.

Drivers and vans

Vans used are air-conditioned 12 seat Nissan Urvans or similar. If the occasion arises we can arrange, pick-up trucks and 4 wheel drive vehicles for challenging terrain. Our drivers are mature, fully experienced and knowledgeable in navigating the area. Vehicles are well maintained and clean; several have baggage storage roof racks. We have 30 vans at call and more can be summonsed to cope with larger groups. Coaches are available for larger groups.
