Near PP Island

Nature abounds |
Phang Nga
PHANG NGA is usually visited because of its fascinating seascape and its short
distance, about 2.30 hrs, from Phuket. Everything from mangrove wood to pig-tailed
macaques including primeval-looking islands and some of the caves containing prehistoric
drawings evoke many moods. For example, Phang-nga Bay, recently declared a national park,
is rich in natural resources. Major attractions include Panyi Isle, site of a stilted
Muslim fishing village; most notably James Bond Island featured in many movies such as "The
Man With The Golden Gun". Tapoo Isle or The Nail Isle; etc. Further afield but
impressive are The Similan Islands, also a national park, 110 kms. northwest of Phuket.
There are nine uninhabited islands in the group. Perfect for devoted snorkellers and scuba
divers. |

beauty

offering unique sights of coral reefs and enchanting marine life, Phi Phi is a rising star
in the Andaman. It can be reached in about 1.20 hrs. by an express boat from Phuket. Other
Krabi attractions, less than 30 minutes from the provincial capital, are the beautiful

year-old shell cemetery where fossilised shells formed tiered concrete-like slabs. |
