The self-supporting tribal school is
near the holy mountain of Chiang Dao (approx. 1.5 hours from Chiang Mai) and hosts
students from the tribal villages of Akha, Hmong, Lisu, Lahu, and Karen. It is a special
place with many interesting attractions nearby, such as cave temples, roaming elephants,
tribal villages and astonishing scenery.
Patana have raised over 35,000 Baht in
the past two trips to help the school and the money has been used to build much-needed
washing and toilet facilities. The school is the highlight of many a Patana student's trip
and provides an ideal visual and hand's on experience of a life totally different from
their own.
