Ang Thong Islands
National marine park and Ko Tao are famed for excellent scuba diving sites.
The main crop of 40 islands is some 20 km west of Samui. Visits are limited to day passes
and, as yet no accommodation is available in this protected area.
Koh Phanghan
Little developed island with simple accommodation it has become renown for
the full-moon parties that attract revellers from around the world. Easily reached from
Samui. Rocky landscapes and waterfalls are part of the charm.
Ko Tao
45 km from Phangan this unspoiled island is ideal for snorkelling. The 11
bays and 10 capes make combine with good visibility to attract divers. Can be reached from
Samui, Phangan, Surathani or Chumpon.
Nathorn
Is the main town of the island and a major transit point for boat arrivals.
Shopping from handicrafts to hammocks and post offices, banks, telephone services and the
island's main hospital can be located here.
Hin Lat - Na Muang
Two palm fringed waterfalls with natural swimming pool. The creeping
tropical fauna gives visitors a real Robinson Crusoe fee. |
