Kyaingtong (Keng Tung) and Eastern Shan State3 Days / 2 Nights Kyaingtong, an old colonial town, lies 456 km north-east of Taunggyi in eastern Shan State. It is surrounded by the villages of the Khun, Wa, Shan, Akha, Palaung and Lahu hill tribes. The forests and mountains of this region offer a peaceful setting of natural beauty. Day 1: Yangon – Kyaingtong. Tour Highlights: Depart Yangon or Heho for flight to Kyaingtong. Upon arrival drive to Yang Kong village to visit pottery, tile and ceramics work. Return to Kyaingtong and transfer to hotel. Visit Wat Pha That Jom Non on the hill for sunset and an evening walk around Nawng Tung Lake. Overnight in Kyaingtong. Day 2: Kyaingtong. Tour Highlights: Scenic drive through forests and rice fields into the Shan Mountains to either visit Loi – mwe, a colonial hill station at 1600 m. or hike to nearby Akha , Ann and Lahu villages to see the local hill tribes and traditional village weavers. Overnight in Kyaingtong. Day 3: Kyaingtong – Yangon. Early morning visit to the water buffalo market
and Central Market to meet the local hill tribes and shop for local
handicrafts. Visit
workshops making kyaingtong style lacquer ware, the monasteries of Wat
Pha Jao Lung Maha Myat Muni in town. Afternoon
depart for airport for
flight to Yangon. Price
