Sprawling Thai
capital with some of the most astounding sites in Asia. Imagine a 5.5 ton solid Gold
Buddah image, the Grand Palace and Oriental hotel are a mere fraction of readily
available
attractions. The world famous bars and night entertainment sections of the city need no
further introduction and are a magnet for the nocturnal party-goer.
With over 10% of the entire population, or up to 10
million people packed into the Thai capital it's little wonder the city is enthused
with energy.
River cruises, floating markets, theme parks, zoos,
horse-racing are all popular pastimes of locals and visitors alike. The market at
Chatuchuk park, near Northern Maw-chit, bus terminal (now accessible by skytrain)
is a whole day experience and is open
weekends. Classical dance troupe shows are also on many a visitors itinerary with
re-enactments of the classical splendor of a bye-gone era.
Needless to say Bangkok Thailand has a huge number of places to dine and some
are truly world-class. The selection from Mexican to Vietnamese would keep gourmets busy
for a life time.
