The capital's most popular visitors attraction is an impressive
collection of art and palace culture. The star attraction is the auspicious Jade

Located 30 miles north of Bangkok on the road to Ayuttaya the
traditional village features architecture, costumes, music and folklore of the
countrys main regions.

Royal Barges National Museum

Dry dock where several of the ornate barges are docked. These
ceremonial boats should be of great interest to history buffs and nautical enthusiasts
alike. Located on Klong Bangkok No off Tao Fray River and close to Phrase Pin Lao Bridge.
Pasteur Institute (Snake Farm)

Corner of Henry Dunning Road and Ram IV Road, west of Chulalongkorn
Hospital, the Pasteur Inst. is also known as the Snake Farm due to its extensive
collection of poisonous snakes. It is a section of the Thai Red cross where inoculations
for cholera, smallpox and typhoid are administered. Open between 08:30-16:30 weekdays and
10:30-14:00 weekends admission is 70 Baht.
200 acres park on Si Nakarin Road, commemorates HM Kings 60th birthday.
Extensive botanical gardens and central displays are popular with local Thais, foreign
expatriates and visitors alike.
Bangkok Planetarium & Science Museum

Situated next to Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekamai) the exhibition centers
on science and Astronomy is open except Mondays and public holidays. Daily solar system
performance from Tuesday to Sunday 08:00-14:30.
Sukhumvit Road is well known as
a place for a quick and cheap suit to be made whilst Silom is a good area to have custom
shoes tailored. There is a wealth of things to do and see in the capital before heading up-country
to see the beaches or enjoy the rural country.
Nearby attractions: include Ayuttaya,
former capital that can be enjoyed as a day trip, sailed to on a barge or a taste of
former glory can be sampled on an overnight stay. The nearby Ban Pa-In monument is a
wonderful example of Thai architecture and is set on a tranquil lake.
